Get ready because this October we are teaching you how to create dog Halloween games!
People that love treating their pup to their very own kind of trick fur treat are our kind of bark!

Things to Consider
When hosting an event like this it is very important that the area the puppies or dogs will be in is well lit and very clean.
In fact, we recommend it be outside if weather permits or held in a large open area.
Therefore, it is important to check the area for any garbage, debris, or anything that could be potentially dangerous to the animals.
It is a must that the dogs are able to get along well with other dogs and that each owner is in control of their own animal.
How to Make Your Pup’s Party Spooktacular
Did you hear about when our reader Sharon took her little Mr. Ruff Ruff to his very own fall party? Someone told her, her dog was spoiled rotten!
Shed happens! LOL, I have to say it’s ruff being a spoiled pup don’t you think?!
However, we are in a hundred percent agreeance with you Sharon, and don’t see it any other way either! So high five! Keep on keeping on!
Therefore, that’s where the inspiration to create dog Halloween games comes into play even more!
So get your pups dressed up in their favorite costume and get ready for the cutest doggy Halloween party games ever!
Pet Games for a Dog’s Fall Party
Bad to the Bone
To play Bad to the Bone you will need to have a bone just like this! As well as, sociable dogs!
With that in mind, you’ll need to line all of the dogs up on a starting line. Next, blow the whistle and let all the dogs try to see if they could be the ones to find the bone.
Whichever dog finds the bone first and brings it back to its owner. This dog will be labeled King Bad to the Bone.
In return, that dog will get to keep the bone and or could win a treat!

If you liked that game! You’re in for a treat with the next one! For example, how fun would this puppy game be?
It’s called, I like Big Bones and I Can Not Lie.
I like Big Bones and I Can not Lie
We will teach you how to play this easy puppy game.
First, you will need a bone for each player.
For example, if you have six doggies at the party.
You will need five mini or small bones and one large bone.
Therefore, when the bones are placed around the backyard or the permitter for the area where the dogs are able to go. Each dog will find a bone.
However, the doggy that finds the largest bone… that dog will be the winner of I like Big Bones and I Can not Lie!
Howl-O-Ween Dog Costume Contest
Have you ever been to a halloween pet parade? I have not yet, but I can’t wait for the chance. Just imagine the atmosphere with all of the adorable pets dressed up!
Therefore, a Howl-o-ween costume contest sounds like such a treat! If you want a fun name for your dog costume contest perhaps you could use one of these?!
- Annual Howl-O-Ween Pet Costume Contest
- Fur Raising Halloween Contest
- BARKFEST
- We Make Halloween Scary & Hairy
- Pooch Parade & Costume Contest
A friend called her party a Spooky Blast Pawty and I always thought that was cute too!
My Mummy Loves Me
Calling all Dog Moms! This is my favorite dog Halloween costume game! However, you will need a very patient dog for this idea.
What you will need is cut up strips of white sheets. The owner and her pup will have to play this game together against other doggie owners and their pups.
Dog mama you will need to hold one end of the cut-up sheet and have your dog hold the other (almost like a rope) the dog will hold the end of the sheet in its mouth and you will hold the other end of the sheet as you turn around slowly in a circle.
As you continue to twirl in a circle you will begin to be covered up like a mummy. The dog that covers the mummy the most within the allotted time will be the winner of the My Mummy Loves Me game.

Pet-Friendly Doggie Games & Activities
Trick or Treater Guard Patrol
Celebrate more fun with your furry friends with the trick or treat for dog’s activity.
In fact, there are so many fun ways for dogs to be able to beg for the right treats!
However, creating stations has seemed to work the best! For example, each pup will need to walk with its owner to each station.
Pup stations could include a decorated trunk, booth, or treat station.
Each pet owner will need to hold a fillable pumpkin basket or basket of choice to hold the goodies and walk with their puppy (the leash is recommended) from station to station throughout the park or party area.
Included could be items such as:
- Dog Treats
- Puppy Biscuits
- Chew Toys
- Mini Bones
- Pumpkin Dog Treats
In fact, you could even include human goodies too!

Who Can Rock The Bow
This game is for the dog park divas! With this idea to add to the festivities find out which of your pals can rock that bow the longest!
Each dog will receive a bow whether it’s a small, medium, or large depending on the size of the dog.
In fact, this pumpkin bow is nice because it is a thick material and perfect for a pup to model it!
Each pup will need to hold the bow on their head as they walk from start line to the finish or from one side of the field to the other.
Whichever pup holds the bow on their head the longest or makes it across to the other side without dropping the bow will win a treat!
Wrapping Up
Mark all your calendars because attending an event full of furry fun isn’t only good for the soul but often times it’s a lot of fun for your favorite creature too!
Therefore, we hope you get to play, bark, and have fun at your Halloween pawty!
P.S. If you have dog Halloween games that you would like to create and or share or one that your pup has been a part of? We’d love to read about it in the comments!
Cute, what fun games! I only have cats and I wish they’d want to play games. But no. If it’s not sleeping or eating, they’ll pass.
LOL, and thanks for checking them out!
I love my dogs (2 Boston Terriers) but I’ll admit that we’ve never played any of these games before. Can’t wait to try “I like big bones and I cannot lie” with them. So fun!
Yay! Thank you! We tried to put some well thought into games we’ve never seen before or heard of. We are so glad you enjoyed them and want to play! We hope you have a lot of fun with them. 🙂
